Integrative Massage

I use an integrative massage therapy approach, pulling from knowledge from many modalities to deliver purposeful, therapeutic touch that is specific to each person's needs. Light to firm touch is used to release tension, relax muscles, increase blood and lymph circulation, and impart a sense of calm. Can be very effective in decreasing and alleviating pain or trigger points.

How can massage help?

Massage has a variety of benefits that affect the entire person. Massage helps the body recover from stress and enter a state of rest-and-recovery. It can dramatically affect posture, reduce chronic pain, improve sleep, increases circulation, improve immunity (increases white blood cell count), and relieve tension headaches.

Research has shown that massage provides multiple health benefits.

For example, a single session can:

  • Reduce anxiety by reducing cortisol and insulin levels

  • Dramatically reduce blood pressure and heart rate from stress

  • Increase the production of endorphins, a chemical responsible for our happiness

  • Serotonin and dopamine are released during massage, allowing for deep relaxation and the reduction of stress.

  • Stimulate our lymphatic system

  • Help with respiratory issues and reduce muscular tension

Multiple sessions can:

  • Reduce the tendency for anxiety and depression

  • Reduce chronic pain and fatigue

  • Assist to create better overall mobility in the muscles and joints

  • Increases circulation and rid the body of toxins.

  • Massage has also been shown to provide pain relief and to improve mood for patients in advanced stages of cancer
